As the new school year begins, there are a few important things parents should know about accessing student transportation information in the First View app.
No Changes Needed for Existing Parent Accounts
Parents that have already registered for an account in the app do not need to create a new account. They can login to their existing account or request a password reset from the login screen in the app.
For most districts, the First View district code will remain the same for the upcoming school year. Parents who are already connected to their students using a Student ID or that have manually create a student profile in First View will remain connected and do not need to update their accounts or re-add their students. Parents that have manually created a student profile will need to re-add trips/routes once they are available in the app.
When Will Student Routes Be Available?
Parents who are already connected to a student should begin seeing their student’s new school year route information about a week before the first day of school. Parents who need to add a student or route to their First View account can also begin checking the app during that same timeframe.
Please note that while route information is often available about a week before school starts, updates and changes may continue to be imported into First View up until the first day of school. If parents are still not seeing route information in the app on the first day of school, please contact support for assistance.
Route Information May Continue to Change
At the beginning of the school year, there are often ongoing adjustments to routes and schedules. As a result, it may take several weeks for updates and changes to appear in First View after they have been submitted to the district and depot.
We encourage parents to check the app regularly during the first few weeks of school for the most up-to-date transportation information available in First View or to reach out to their district for questions about routes or transportation change requests.
Important Support Information
First View Support cannot:
- Provide district codes to parents
- Provide student route information to parents
- Make changes to student route information
- Expedite route updates in the app
All route information and updates are managed by the school district and depot. If route information appears incorrect or is missing, parents should contact their school district's transportation department for assistance.
